About The Position

Working under the direction of the Controller, oversees daily accounting operations, ensures accurate financial reporting, and supervises accounting staff. This role supports compliance with accounting standards, improves internal controls, and assists management with financial analysis and reporting for multiple companies housed at our Columbus Corporate Location. The position will be responsible for leading the Accounting team and ensuring completion and accuracy of daily accounting tasks and month-end close to include account reconciliations and preparing journal entries. This team member will also play an integral role in the year-end close process, as well as annual/semiannual audits.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (Quickbooks preferred)
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle)
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

Nice To Haves

Prior supervisory or team-lead experience preferred

Responsibilities

Supervise and review the work of accounting staff, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities
Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and applicable regulations
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation
Monitor and improve accounting processes and internal controls
Train, mentor, and evaluate accounting team members
Coordinate with other departments to resolve accounting issues
Assist the Controller with special projects and financial analysis
