About the position

Robert Half is seeking a strong Accounting Consultant for a part-time, fully remote position in the Corporate Treasury department of a large privately held multi-billion dollar transportation client. The consultant will be responsible for verifying and reviewing reimbursable business expense reports for over 1,500 employees, as well as reviewing non-reimbursable expenses related to corporate credit cards. The role requires a solid understanding of US GAAP and involves reconciling credit card payables accounts and posting journal entries in the company's accounting software.

Responsibilities

  • Verify and review reimbursable business expense reports for over 1,500 employees.
  • Review non-reimbursable expenses related to 300-400 corporate credit cards.
  • Reconcile all related accrued credit card payables accounts.
  • Post journal entries in the company's accounting software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role.
  • Proven experience with account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Extensive knowledge of general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Proficiency in creating and posting journal entries.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with expense account management, including expense reimbursements and reporting.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality and discretion.
  • Willingness to continuously improve and learn new skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • CPA certification is highly desirable but not mandatory.
