About The Position

The Sr. Accountant position at BorgWarner, Inc. involves managing complex accounting tasks with minimal supervision. Responsibilities

  • Set up internal orders based on approved appropriation requests (AR's)
  • Maintain internal order changes and monthly reporting
  • Capitalize fixed assets including asset setup and tagging
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Prepare monthly depreciation and construction in process journal entries
  • Conduct monthly fixed asset impairment reporting and review
  • Analyze monthly start-up and outside services account expenses
  • Reconcile monthly fixed asset accounts
  • Complete machining audits on the plant floor
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies for fixed asset accounting
  • Assist with ad hoc finance projects as requested
  • Act as a business partner for support departments, assisting with forecasts and budgets
  • Lead finance initiatives on cost reduction projects
  • Prepare and complete journal entries for month-end close
  • Prepare account reconciliations for select balance sheet accounts
  • Assist with ad hoc project work, reporting, and tasks as necessary
  • Back up to print checks, wires, ACH's, ETF's, and reverse documents as needed
  • Conduct invoice entry and payment matches
  • Investigate receipts and reply to payment inquiries
  • Research vendor changes
  • Load data into OneStream
  • File annual property taxes
  • Assist finance team with annual internal and external audits related to fixed asset accounting
