The purpose of this Houston TX based job is to perform critical activities associated with general ledger, financial and operating reports and budget analysis while following SOX compliance processes. Perform high level accounting activities including preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements and capital expenditure schedules Maintain controls and processes in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Prepare, record, analyze and report accounting transactions and ensure the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles Provide financial support and prepare schedules in support of FP&A function. Conduct or assist in the documentation of high impact accounting projects and financial statement relationships Compile, consolidate and analyze accounting and finance information to produce financial statements and reports Complete reconciliation between ETRM system and general ledger. Knowledge of mark to market accounting and the differences to GAAP Support External and Internal Auditors by providing documentation requests and explanations of underlying transactions. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual variance analysis on balance sheet, profit-and loss statement and operational reports. Analyzing and implementing financial policies, procedures, and standards Developing and implementing changes to accounting systems. May coach, lead, and direct other’s work Perform special projects as assigned Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures Complete other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • This position requires candidates to be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required
  • Minimum five years’ experience in accounting or related field required
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills: advanced Excel skills required
  • Knowledge and detailed understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) preferred
  • FSM software strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with RightAngle or similar ETRM system strongly preferred

Responsibilities
