About The Position

As a Senior Accountant you will be responsible for capitalization software accounting, managing financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting audit processes, all while adhering to accounting standards and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Accounting
  • Active CPA license, or equivalent, preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience, public accounting or public company experience preferable
  • Software company experience required
  • Capitalized software development accounting experience, preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience in applying US GAAP
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Experience with financial systems, such as Oracle or Workday
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Software development capitalization tracking, recording and reconciliation according to company policy
  • Partner with other business units to provide support on software capitalization
  • Develop and maintain process documentation around capitalization
  • Partner with finance to understand software capitalization budgeting and forecasting
  • Prepare month end close journal entries and reconciliations
  • Perform monthly analysis of impairment triggers
  • Assist in the annual capitalized software impairment analysis
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis as needed
  • Maintaining and reconciling the general ledger, including balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Preparing and posting journal entries for various transactions, including accruals, deferrals, and adjusting entries
  • Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records including performing various analytics
  • Managing the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing closing journal entries and reconciliations
  • Ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Assisting with audit preparations, including gathering documentation and responding to auditor requests
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations
  • Participating in process improvement initiatives
  • Performs tasks in accordance with the company's internal controls and policies
  • Supervising and training junior accounting staff (in some cases)
