About The Position

The Cancer Research Training and Education Coordination (CRTEC) programs at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center (SKCCC) offer training and education opportunities that are multidisciplinary and span the basic, translational, and population sciences. We are seeking a Sr. Academic Program Coordinator, CRTEC who will coordinate the planning, implementation, and execution of CRTEC activities requiring collaboration with students, faculty, and other departments. The coordinator will support programs that involve elementary and high schools, local universities, visiting medical students, teachers, and other community members. Will support the assessment, delivery, and metric gathering of meetings, courses and related activities. The position will also support the development of new programs, e.g. conferences and educational retreats.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or graduation equivalent.
  • Five years of progressively responsible administrative/academic experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the point of contact for SKCCC courses and meetings, handling inquiries related to annual calendar, potential speakers, tracking attendance records, assessing venues and other related matters.
  • Collaborate with other CRTEC staff and faculty on the planning and tracking of centrally organized courses, including announcements, student registration, student feedback and metrics.
  • Work with the Director and other faculty to develop and assess the success of courses.
  • Prepare annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) applications with faculty and assess ongoing needs and results.
  • Oversee the tracking of metrics related to meetings, courses and other education and training activities.
  • Support grant submissions including new opportunities that support educational and training activities.
  • Conduct basic analysis of data to assess trends and work with the Director to prioritize areas of need for intervention and improvements.
  • Serve as a liaison for CRTEC with local and national educators to support programs such as those for medical students and other visiting students.
  • Work with the Director to support programs for local elementary and high school students.
  • Represent CRTEC at JHU committees and with national groups as appropriate.
  • Serve as liaison with other Johns Hopkins stakeholders, e.g. ICTR, Urban Health Institute and other related entities
  • Other duties as assigned.
