About The Position

Lead SQL Server Operations DBA Install and configure new Microsoft SQL Server instances, including Alwayson availability groups and failover clustering. Preferably on Microsoft SQL Server 2022, 2019, 2016. Highly skilled at database design and T-SQL development. Responsible for database backup and recovery procedures, security and database integrity, physical data storage design and data storage management. Configure and manage SQL Security settings. Make system design recommendations according to Microsoft SQL Server best practices. Manage database backup, recovery & DR planning. Create, modify, and optimize SQL Server Agent jobs and maintenance plans. Proactively monitor SQL Server maintenance tasks, troubleshoot failed jobs and resolve issues in a timely manner. Troubleshoot application slowness and performance issues. Analyzes SQL query plans and refines complex queries for performance tuning. Responsible for database migrations and server upgrades. SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and Data Integration: Develop, maintain, and optimize SSIS packages for ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes of large data into and out of Microsoft SQL Server. Optimizes data for visualization and Business Intelligence data analysis. Perform SQL Server integration with enterprise applications.

Requirements

  • Highly skilled at database design and T-SQL development.
  • Experienced in Database Design and Development to perform the following: Database design utilizing various objects development such as Packages, Procedures, Functions, Triggers for business logic implementation, T-SQL procedures development, compilation and debugging stored Procedures, DB Troubleshooting, performance and tuning, Experience in Logical and Physical Database modelling
  • Experienced in Database Performance, Maintenance and Development to perform the following: Database management including backups, recovery and maintenance, Database management for export, import and mass data loads, Analyzes and generation of all tables and index statistics, Monitoring and resolving data lock issues, Check all statistics related to memory, locks, I/O, database response time, wait events, top sessions and background processes, Create indexes to achieve critical dataset response time for time sensitive reports.
  • Solid understanding of database security concepts and best practices for Microsoft SQL Server databases.
  • Experience with source control tools (SVN/Git).
  • Familiarity with programming and/or scripting languages such as: C#, PowerShell
  • Hands-On Experience in ITIL
  • Good communication Skills interacting with global teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably on Microsoft SQL Server 2022, 2019, 2016.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
  • Exposure to SCOM monitoring tool
