We're seeking a future team member for the role of SQL Server Database Production Support to join our Technology Engineering Group team. This role is located in Lake Mary, Florida or Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred.
• 8 - 10 years of related infrastructure experience required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
• Experience managing Always On SQL Server clusters with 4-node configurations.
• SQL Server or Azure SQL certification; experience managing Azure SQL Managed Instances.
• Familiarity with AI/LLM tools for database management.
• Additional experience with other database platforms is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee administration of SQL Server (2019, 2022) instances across all business lines, including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, space management, and routine maintenance (statistics updates, reindexing, consistency checks, backup/recovery).
• Collaborate with application teams to analyze query performance, utilize Query Store for consistent query performance, and advise on partitioning strategies for large data sets.
• Manage Always On Availability Groups and clustering (4-node configurations), ensuring minimal replication lag, guiding secondary read-only usage, and handling planned/unplanned failovers.
• Configure SQL Server authentication, create logins/users, and enforce least privilege access for applications and users.
• Lead schema change processes using automation tools like GitLab and Liquibase, including rollback procedures.
• Utilize Large Language Models (e.g., ChatGPT) to troubleshoot and manage complex SQL Server issues.
• Experience with other data platforms (Oracle, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, PostgreSQL) is a plus.
