We are looking for a SQL Database Developer to support our routing projects - must have experience with Geography/Spatial data mapping. This is a full-time position at Waste Connections, Inc. located in The Woodlands, Texas. The position will be primarily responsible for management and support of our internal routing applications. This position is a member of the Operations Applications Information Systems group and will be part of the Ops Apps Development group. Technology Requirements: Working with Microsoft SQL Stack e.g., SQL Server 2016 or higher, SSAS, SSIS, SSRS Transact SQL SQL Agent jobs Database Replication Database Administration SSRS and Crystal Reports Standardized reports as well as ad-hoc reporting in both SSRS and Crystal Reports. SQL Server Development
Writing SQL queries from scratch, must be very proficient in Transact SQL
SSIS - take data from the old system, modify that data, and feed into the new system
Use of data model concepts, master data management, operational process, SDLC, project management, data profiling, data cleansing/de-duplication processes.
Use of SQL Server database, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server analysis Services (SSAS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Azure Data platforms (Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lakes, and Azure Databricks). Working with Microsoft SQL Stack e.g., SQL Server 2016 or higher, SSAS, SSIS, SSRS
Data Analysis and Data Updates
Live and Test database updates
Create, update, and maintain Transact SQL scripts
Create, update and maintain indexes, stored procedures, and triggers.
Data Conversions
Data migration with source database to target database mapping.
Support
Analyze data, provide solutions and support our existing customers.
Database Administration
Light administration such as performance monitoring, restores and backups.
Working directly with the business clients.
Extensive use of written and oral communication skills, particularly the ability to synthesize complex issues/scenarios into easy-to-understand concepts.
Works closely with the business team, development team, analysis team, and the users to enhance quality and product delivered.
Responsible for precisely communicating impact, status, priority, progress, and roadblocks to management
Provides guidance in terms of priority and ownership of issues and requests.

3+ years of experience in application development
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
Excellent in Transact SQL
Must have experience working with SQL Geography data types
Proficient in Microsoft SQL Server Administration
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to learn quickly and work independently or as part of a team
Excellent Communication and Inter-personal skills, both with business customers and with fellow IT professionals (Business Analysts, Project Managers and Developers)
Must be able to work in fast paced environment and be able to adapt to changing requirements
Ability to multi-task
Ability to work to deadline
