About The Position

Bowhead seeks a highly skilled SQL Database Administrator in Dahlgren, VA. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining SQL databases, as well as applying DISA STIGs to ensure compliance with regulations. The candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a team and be able to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Bachelor's degree and three (3+) or more years of experience in SQL database administration.
• Excellent knowledge of SQL Server, MySQL, and Oracle databases.
• Experience applying DISA STIGs to SQL databases.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) II compliant.
• Excellent communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Git and specifically GitLab.
• Firm grasp of SQL best practices in both PostgreSQL and Oracle.
• Surface level knowledge of Redis and other NoSQL DBs.

Responsibilities
