About The Position
The Virginia Retirement System (VRS) Data Office team is seeking a skilled Structured Query Language (SQL) Data Cleanup Specialist to assist with cleansing and standardizing data across a large-scale SQL Server database. This role involves maintaining the confidentiality of all business data and adhering to VRS data security policies while analyzing and understanding the structure and relationships within the database. The specialist will write and execute SQL update and insert statements to clean and optimize data, utilize tools and techniques to automate and expedite the data cleansing process, and collaborate with the data team to ensure data integrity and accuracy. Additionally, the specialist will document the data cleanup process and provide regular progress updates, as well as handle special projects at the direction of the Chief Operating Officer or Data Officer.
