About The Position

The SQA Engineer II will be a self-driven, high-energy engineer who is eager to learn and grow. This position requires system testing expertise and UI automation experience. This role will be based in our Marlborough, MA office reporting to the Senior Software QA Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science
  • 3-5 years of experience in SQA or product qualification with Bachelor's degree; or 1-3 years of experience in SQA or product qualification with Master's degree
  • Familiar with UI testing using Selenium, QTP/UFT or similar tools
  • Aptitude for automation
  • Ability to express ideas clearly in written and oral communications
  • Ability to assess new technologies and testing of those implementations
  • Project skills, including planning, estimation of effort
  • Proven track record of proactively working with the QA team and development team
  • Strong passion for assuring product quality
  • A desire to improve SQA process
  • Expertise in one or more scripting languages such as TCL, Python and Perl
  • General understanding of computer networks, setting up test networks, and configuring lab networks
  • Must understand and promote best practices in regard to SQA methodologies
  • Must be capable of lifting 30 pounds. Must use assistance when lifting 50 or more pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in waterfall and agile engineering environments
  • Experience developing Windows applications or extensive experience configuring windows
  • Experience working with Atlassian Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket products
  • Some experience or the desire to learn about utility power systems
  • Strong communication skills that interweave presentation skills with the problem-solving process
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Well-developed technical writing skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform System Testing, Regression Testing, Functional Testing
  • Publish tests and test results using a TCM (TestRail)
  • Test Plan Development / Builds, Test Case Development / Execution
  • Defect Tracking / Reporting
  • Participate in Product Design / Feature Meetings
  • Test Environments: Identify / Setup / Configure / Maintain
  • Automate testing
  • Function with moderate supervision
  • Travel requirement: less than 5%
  • Responsible for working with development and project managers to assist in technical decision making
  • Ensure cross product implementation consistency
  • Work with other product teams on solutions
