Equity Investment Management Technology (EIMT) is the investment management arm of the broader Private Wealth Technology department. This department provides technology support for all of Bernstein Private Wealth Management, including Sales, Institutional Sales, Wealth Strategies, Marketing, and Operations. EIMT builds and supports software that manages Bernstein Private Wealth’s portfolio implementation and trading activities. Our portfolio implementation and trading system, known as SPSR, manages and invests over 35,000 private client accounts with roughly $100 billion in assets under management. The SPSR system is comprised of numerous automated processes that leverage proprietary quantitative research models and portfolio optimization algorithms to continuously analyze and rebalance Private Wealth portfolios. In addition, SPSR provides interactive tools that the Private Wealth Portfolio Management Group uses to efficiently and expeditiously process account-specific activities such as asset mix changes, client directed trades, tax loss harvesting, specialized account optimizations, complex cashflows and new account investments.

  • Analyze, design, develop, deploy, and support the SPSR system.
  • Work on strategic and tactical projects to enhance system capabilities.
  • Support existing processes while designing and implementing software.
  • Partner closely with business users to gather requirements.
  • Support time-sensitive requests for information.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Mathematics.
  • Minimum 5 years professional experience.
  • Wealth Management/Investment Management process and data domain knowledge.
  • 3 – 7 years C++, Java and/or C# experience (At least one of these; C++ and C# with experience in GUI design using WinForms preferred).
  • 2+ years SQL experience (Microsoft SQL Server, Sybase or Oracle) including stored procedures and table design.
  • Solid analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Graphical user interface design and development.
  • Strong object-oriented analysis and design skills.
  • Very strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Azure, DevOps, Git, Swift, Python, and Xamarin.
