About The Position
2026 ESY SPSA Teacher - MIDDLE SCHOOL Location: Kenmore July 6, 2026 through July 31, 2026 Professional Days and Orientation: July 1, 2 SPSA Secondary Program for Students with Autism Qualifications: Must hold a valid license (or provisional license) in special education Knowledge of best practices and experience teaching students with autism spectrum disorders Knowledge of the social and emotional needs of students with autism spectrum disorders Knowledge of Social Skills SEL Curriculum Experience: Teaching students with autism spectrum disorders Working with a variety of ability /grade levels (classes are multi-graded)
Requirements
- Must hold a valid license (or provisional license) in special education
- Knowledge of best practices and experience teaching students with autism spectrum disorders
- Knowledge of the social and emotional needs of students with autism spectrum disorders
- Knowledge of Social Skills SEL Curriculum
- Teaching students with autism spectrum disorders
- Working with a variety of ability /grade levels (classes are multi-graded)
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize and implement appropriate instruction in the areas of motor skills, language, self-help skills, and personal independence
- Adapt instruction, assignments and curriculum depending on the needs of the students
- Collect data on student critical life skill goals
- Provide accommodations and modifications for students as needed
- Working collaboratively with school staff, student services staff, and families
- Plan and organize activities to be carried out by an assistant if assigned
