The Sprinkler Technician Helper at Marmic Fire and Safety provides essential support in the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems. This entry-level position assists experienced Sprinkler Technicians with various on-site tasks, including system setup, inspection, and troubleshooting. The role involves learning about fire protection systems, helping with hands-on tasks, and ensuring the proper functioning and compliance of sprinkler systems. This position requires a strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • Support the installation of fire sprinkler systems, including measuring, cutting, and assembling pipes and fittings.
  • Assist in setting up and connecting components, ensuring that systems are installed according to specifications and safety standards.
  • Help with routine maintenance and inspections of sprinkler systems to ensure they are operational and compliant with industry standards.
  • Assist in identifying and documenting any issues or deficiencies in the systems.
  • Provide support in troubleshooting and repairing sprinkler system components as directed by experienced technicians.
  • Help with making adjustments or minor repairs to ensure system reliability.
  • Maintain accurate records of installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
  • Prepare reports on system status and any issues encountered during work.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to provide updates on work progress and address any immediate concerns.
  • Ensure a professional and courteous interaction with clients and other stakeholders.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Follow company policies and procedures to maintain compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Participate in on-the-job training and company-provided training programs to develop technical skills and knowledge.
  • Stay informed about the latest developments in fire sprinkler technology and best practices.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a professional attitude.
  • Ability to use hand tools and basic measurement equipment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must pass pre-employment background checks and drug screenings, with ongoing compliance throughout employment.
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting and moving equipment over 50 lbs, and working in challenging positions such as climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and be on-call as needed.
  • Basic understanding of plumbing or mechanical systems is a plus but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of fire sprinkler systems or related technology.
  • Experience or coursework related to plumbing or mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with NFPA codes and standards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in multiple languages.
