About The Position

The Sprinkler Service Fitter Technician is responsible for diagnosing fire sprinkler system performance through observation, testing, and setup. The role involves disassembling and reassembling sprinkler systems to perform troubleshooting and preventative maintenance. The technician will operate hand tools, power tools, gauges, and measuring equipment to service the system, complete work orders, and document invoicing data based on hours worked and materials used. The technician must explain service charges and work performed to customers, reconcile work order documents, and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
• Minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience to include service experience on wet, dry, pre-action and deluge sprinkler systems
• Ability to maintain on-going required continued education, professional licenses and/or certifications as required by the position
• Diagnostic ability as demonstrated through prior experience and/or training

Nice To Haves

• Good math, verbal, written skills as well as good interpersonal skills
• Basic to moderate computer skills are desired
• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses fire sprinkler system performance through observation, testing and setup
• Disassembles and reassembles sprinkler systems to perform troubleshooting and preventative maintenance
• Operates hand tools, power tools, gauges and measuring equipment to perform service to the system
• Completes work orders, task lists and documents to verify work performed as needed to conform to customer invoicing requirements
• Completes documentation of invoicing data based on hours worked and materials or equipment used to perform the service
• Explains the service charges and work performed to the satisfaction of the customer
• Reconciles work order documents, vendor packing slips and weekly timesheets for supervisor review
• Other duties as assigned
