Summary/Objective: The Service and Special Projects Sprinkler Fitter is responsible for the service and installation and testing of automatic Sprinkler fire suppression systems, along with doing occasional inspections. Works with the service team to install new systems and inspect older sprinkler systems.

Requirements

2+ years of experience as a Service Sprinkler Fitter; or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience
Ability to interpret blueprints and architectural drawings preferred
Knowledge of NFPA Standards
Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills
Must adhere to all company policy and procedures
Must be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned
Must be able to correctly identify all colors of a color-coded cable/wires and see close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus
HS diploma or GED equivalent

Prior military experience
NICET level 2 Service Fire Protection Sprinkler Fitter

Responsibilities

Reads and interprets drawings and specifications to determine layout requirements
Installs clamps, brackets and hangers to support piping system and sprinkler and fire protection equipment
Connects piping system to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment
Tests system for leaks using air or liquid pressure equipment
Trains and directs the day to day work of a Helper
Maintains appropriate documentation for the work performed
Performs other duties as assigned
