About The Position

Ahern is seeking qualified applicants for the Sprinkler Fitter Apprenticeship program to work within the La Crosse, WI area. This is a 5-year apprenticeship program working side-by-side with a journeyman sprinkler fitter installing automatic fire protection systems. Your employment relationship will be governed by a collective bargaining agreement. Apprentices will complete on-the-job training and 5 years of corresponding coursework toward becoming a journeyman sprinkler fitter. Upon completion of the apprenticeship program, a Journeyman earns over double the apprentice hourly rate!

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Clean driving record to operate company vehicles.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and physical examination.
• Strong mechanical background.
• Good working and learning attitude.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment, both indoors and outdoors.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in construction or mechanical fields.
• Previous exposure to fire protection systems.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside journeyman sprinkler fitters to install automatic fire protection systems.
