About The Position

The Sprinkler Construction Foreman is responsible for the installation of fire sprinkler systems in various types of buildings, including residential, commercial, and industrial. This role involves overseeing and directing fitters and helpers to ensure project completion within deadlines and budget constraints. The foreman must ensure that all projects are executed flawlessly, work independently, and accurately interpret installation requirements from project drawings. Responsibilities also include updating installation progress notes, communicating change orders, and maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.

Requirements

  • Minimum education of High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Knowledge of fire sprinkler piping systems and fabrication methods
  • Understanding of fire protection installation requirements
  • Ability to read fire protection blueprints
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a fire sprinkler helper, preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a fire sprinkler apprentice/fitter, preferred
  • Valid state driver's license and good driving record

Nice To Haves

  • American Fire Sprinkler Association training program designed for fire sprinkler foreman, preferred
  • Nicet II & III certification, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Installation of fire sprinkler systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings
  • Installation, service, and troubleshooting of automatic fire sprinkler systems and related equipment
  • Oversee, direct, and delegate tasks to fitters and helpers to meet project deadlines
  • Complete assigned projects in a timely manner and attempt to keep under budget
  • Ensure all projects are done flawlessly
  • Work independently on projects
  • Interpret installation requirements from project drawings
  • Update daily installation progress notes on job contract drawings
  • Communicate change orders to the fire sprinkler manager or project manager
  • Thread and groove pipe, cut hanger rods, climb ladders, hang pipe, read blueprints, and maintain a clean work area
  • Present weekly toolbox talks to employees
  • Provide a safe working environment for employees
  • Complete other duties as assigned
