About The Position

Data Analysts support the development and optimization of strategic initiatives by generating actionable insights and recommendations from internal and external data. Data Analysts support business growth by using business intelligence tools to mine complex data, identify historic trends, and visualize large datasets. Data Analysts play a critical role in data governance, helping to create and maintain data standards and quality. At Textron Aviation, we are building a community of Data & Analytics professionals with an emphasis on collaboration and cross functional support. Requirements

  • Pursuing bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related technical field/coursework
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Practical application experience with one or more analytics packages such as SAS, R, SQL, Python (& associated libraries), or similar.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
  • Experience working with relational databases and developing complex data sets.
  • Ability to identify relevant metrics and explain technical information to a broad audience.
  • Desire and ability to learn and leverage new software, tools, and processes in a self-learning environment.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors who will need employment sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Power BI lineage artifacts such as Dataflows, Datasets, Reports, and Dashboards.
  • Create standard and analytical Dataflows using a combination of SQL and M language queries.
  • Develop resilient and scalable PBI Datasets making use of DAX, field parameters, standardized themes, and properly defining Dataset components.
  • Develop intuitive reports that focus on providing the optimal user interface and experience.
  • Develop and maintain Power Apps solutions, including items such as Apps, Dataflows, Dataverse tables, and environment variables.
  • Create apps that focus on digitizing and streamlining manual processes such as recording meeting attendance and audit findings.
  • Properly document and deploy Power App solutions using ALM best practice.
  • Develop and maintain both Power Automate desktop and cloud flows.
  • Create flows that focus on the automation and standardization of business processes within the organization.
  • Be an active member within organizations data and analytics community, influencing cross functional growth in analytics capabilities.
  • Serves as an internal consultant to business leaders by conducting regular and ad-hoc analyses to convert data into strategic assets.
  • Work to improve data quality by assisting data governance efforts in creating and maintaining data quality standards.
  • Ensures that team efforts support the overall strategic vision and goals of the organization and links with other similar teams in other parts of the business.
