About The Position

Our Mission Hope Center Ministries is a growing nonprofit discipleship recovery program with multiple centers across the U.S. Hope Center Ministries exists to restore lives, restore families, and restore communities. We do this by helping those individuals bound by drug addiction and/or alcoholism find lasting freedom and sobriety through a relationship with Jesus Christ, which translates into seeing the lost saved, the saved freed, the freed restored, and the restored fulfilled. Position Overview This internship is a paid, in-person legal internship supporting Hope Center Ministries (HCM). The intern will gain hands-on experience in nonprofit governance, contracts, risk management, real estate, and regulatory compliance across a multi-state nonprofit organization. The intern will also receive mentorship and professional development through collaboration with B&H Construction, LLC. Hope Center Ministries will remain the primary internship placement. Supervision The intern will serve as a legal intern with Hope Center Ministries, supporting HCM legal, compliance, and governance initiatives. Day-to-day internship activities will be coordinated by Hope Center Ministries leadership. The intern will also receive mentorship, training, and professional guidance from B&H Construction’s In-House Counsel.

Requirements

  • Have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and must live a life according to Biblical standards.
  • Agree with the Statement of Faith, Lifestyle Statement, and overall vision of Hope Center Ministries.
  • Successfully pass drug and alcohol tests, background screening and social media, personal and professional reference checks.
  • Meet any additional requirements as may be determined by Hope Center Ministries.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with review and organization of HCM contracts, leases, agreements, and governance records across multiple locations
  • Support research and documentation related to nonprofit governance, regulatory compliance, and program operations
  • Summarize risk, indemnity, insurance, and liability provisions in agreements involving HCM and external partners
  • Assist with development and standardization of legal templates, policies, and records management processes
  • Research and summarize state-specific SNAP / food assistance regulatory requirements
  • Assist with legal research related to employment law compliance, including Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Department of Labor guidance, and worker classification
  • Assist with legal research and document review related to insurance claims, liability matters, and risk management
  • Assist with legal research and document review related to lawsuits, disputes, and legal matters under attorney supervision
  • Assist with legal research related to building codes, zoning, land use, and property compliance
