The Mining Engineering Co-op position at Barrick Gold Corporation offers a unique opportunity for mining engineering students from Canadian universities to gain hands-on experience in the world's largest gold-mining complex. This role is designed to help students build their professional networks while contributing to various engineering projects within the Technical Services Group.

  • Collaborate with the Technical Services Group on mine planning, geotechnical engineering, ventilation, construction engineering, survey, and geology assignments.
  • Assist with projects related to production and engineering activities including backfill, ventilation, utilities (air, water, power), QA/QC, and ground support engineering.
  • Intervene as necessary to ensure the health and safety of all employees, as well as protect the environment and NGM assets.
  • Enrollment in an undergraduate/graduate mining engineering program at a Canadian university (required).
  • Eligibility for a TN Scientific Technician visa (required).
  • Must be age 21+ and possess a valid driver license (required).
  • Completion of at least two years of undergraduate studies (required).
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (required).
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple departments and manage several projects simultaneously (required).
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills (required).
  • Knowledge of underground design tools, specifically Deswik and Vulcan (preferred).
