About The Position

The Spring 2024 New Graduate RN Residency at VHC Health is designed for new nursing graduates to transition into their professional roles within a collaborative healthcare environment. Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
• New graduate with less than six months of nursing/patient care experience in an acute care setting.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Virginia Department of Health Professions or possess Compact State Licensure in Nursing.
• BLS certification required.

Nice To Haves

• ACLS certification for specific units (ED, ICU, etc.) within one year of employment.
• PALS certification for Pediatric Nurses and ED within one year of employment.
• De-escalation training for Behavioral Health Unit and ED.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect total nursing care for assigned patients.
• Supervise assigned personnel and ensure adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
• Retrieve, present, and document patient information accurately.
• Participate in regular fellowship meetings and complete required learning modules.
