About The Position

This position is responsible for shadowing an experienced sprayer during a six-month trainee program. The role involves learning to apply even coats of finish, stain, paint, or lacquer on assembled cases, visually inspecting for material runs, and learning to fill and adjust equipment. The trainee will also learn to read formulas and color panels, load the line by pulling material from the Whitewood Storage area to the conveyor, and occasionally attach tall cases and bed frames to pallets. Adherence to plant safety rules, maintaining a clean work area, and being quality conscious are essential.

Requirements

• Read and understand finishing schedule
• Have the ability to set up finishing equipment 'pumps'
• Have the ability to spray fillers, glazes, and wash coat all at a quality level.

Responsibilities

• Ability to learn to spray even coats of finish, stain, paint, or lacquer on assembled cases.
• Visually inspect for runs of material
• Learn to fill and adjust equipment as needed
• Learn to read formulas and color panels
• Loads the line by pulling material from Whitewood Storage area to conveyor and loading in assigned order.
• Occasionally attaching tall cases and bed frames to pallets
• Observes plant safety rules while also keeping work area clean and is quality conscious in performing duties.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by Supervisor
