About The Position

Summit Club is seeking a Spray Technician to join the Golf Course Maintenance Department. The Spray Technician performs pesticide and fertilizer applications on the golf course and surrounding area. The spray technician is responsible for reading, understanding, and keeping current with pesticide labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS). The spray technician must be able to detect and identify disease and pest problems in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • At least 3 months’ experience on a golf course maintenance or golf course construction crew.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license required.
  • Must be able to operate trucks, golf carts, and lightly motorized equipment.
  • Work comfortably in various climactic conditions, including sporadic weather events such as spontaneous wind, hard rain, bitter cold, and sweltering heat.
  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Long hours may be required due to business demands.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Must have knowledge of operating hand and power tools, and golf course maintenance / landscaping equipment, i.e. push mowers and weed whackers, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of annuals, perennials, shrubs, and trees.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all chemical and fertilizer applications to all areas of the property.
  • Calibrates sprayers and spreaders to ensure accurate application rates.
  • Stays in compliance with all counties, state and federal regulations for mixing chemicals and all safety aspects.
  • Operates power equipment including mowers, sprayers, spreaders and all other golf course related equipment.
  • Maintains a detailed inventory of all chemical and fertilizer.
  • Keeps a clean and safe work environment in the chemical and fertilizer storage facility
  • Additional Duties as assigned.
