Wenger Corporation is seeking a Spray Painter who will perform all phases of the production finishing and painting processes on all product lines in a manner which consistently meets established conformance requirements. As a Spray Painter a typical day might include: Reviewing work assignments, special instructions and other documentation to facilitate planning of work Preparing surfaces for finishing to ensure a quality, durable finish (whether wood stains or paints) which meets established conformance requirements Priming surfaces with materials appropriate to the product line and performing final cleaning, washing and sanding of primed areas prior to painting Communicating with Cell Lead or Production Manager regarding any issues or problems Finishing surfaces according to established specifications including any touch-up work Leading preventative maintenance activities through out the wet paint area. Responsible for training others the correct methods and frequencies of maintenance. Maintaining a clean and orderly work area English proficiency is required for this manufacturing position to ensure safety compliance and fulfillment of operational needs. The candidate must be able to speak, read and understand English in order to follow equipment instructions, understand safety protocols and respond to emergency situations. Strong English skills are also necessary for communicating with team members, supervisors and other departments to ensure smooth production processes and to maintain quality standards. While performing the functions of this job, the team member is continuously required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear. The team member is occasionally required to kneel, crouch, squat, bend, twist/turn and climb ladder/stairs. The team member is continuously required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate machines, equipment, tools or controls. Team member is continuously required to reach with hands and arms. The functions of the job include occasionally viewing a computer monitor and repetitive motion activities on the keyboard. The team member may continuously be required to lift, move, push/pull up to and over 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience of high level of organization and attention to detail
  • Must stand a considerable amount of time
  • Ability to reach and bend to apply coatings at all angles
  • Must be able to occasionally lift 40-pound containers
  • English proficiency is required for this manufacturing position to ensure safety compliance and fulfillment of operational needs. Nice To Haves

  • Experience with wood finishing, working with sanding, prepping, staining and sealing of wood products.
  • Experience with painting of wood, steel and aluminum products
  • Organize and manage multiple projects at once
  • Experience with equipment for mixing and painting methods
