About The Position

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of automotive/industrial paint process and prep work to be completed.
• Ability to efficiently use various hand and power tools.
• Keen attention to detail
• Ability to work with multiple priorities and constant interruptions.
• Basic communication skills, both written and oral
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Must understand vague and implicit instructions, and react favorably in all work situations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain confidentiality as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares finished surfaces by wet sanding and buffing.
• Prepares surfaces for paint by sanding, bead blasting and using masking.
• Apply Body filler to smooth sheet metal surfaces.
• Roughen aluminum surfaces to create paint adhesion properties for the surface to be painted.
• Apply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces for finish coats.
• Performs painting using conventional spray guns, Pressure pot, brushes and/or rollers.
• Prepares quotes for time, material and jobs.
• Documents paints and procedures used in painting and repairs.
• Maintains equipment by troubleshooting malfunctions, completing preventative maintenance requirements and schedules.
• All other duties, as assigned.
