About The Position

The Die Setter role at Martinrea involves positioning, aligning, and bolting dies to ram and anvil, as well as checking machine set-up for proper usage. Candidates must be comfortable working in a metal/automotive environment, which may include exposure to noise and odors, and working at heights. This position is physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift more than 25lbs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or past work experience deemed to be comparable.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and oral.
• Minimum 1-2 years experience in a similar position or 3-5 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working in a press shop, with preference given to candidates with a technical background.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift more than 25lbs.

Responsibilities

• Pre-stage materials, tools, and equipment required for the next production run.
• Use checking gauges to ensure quality product.
• Setup and initiate robots.
• Adjust shut-heights, cushion pressure on form and draw dies, and set progress on feeders.
• Be responsible for any tools or equipment assigned to perform duties.
• Communicate any equipment or safety concerns to the Area Coordinator/Supervisor.
• Operate Lift Truck and Crane in a safe manner.
• Start, operate, and shut off all presses or equipment in accordance with Martinrea's safety policy.
• Comply with requirements of the Environmental policy and implement the policy within the scope of their duties.
• Position, align, and bolt dies to ram and anvil, and check machine set-up for proper usage.
• Make periodic adjustments to job setup as required.
