About The Position

The Spotter position involves performing a complete safety and mechanical check of the Yard truck and trailers to be moved. Responsibilities include climbing into the cab, driving to trailers, backing up to the trailer, making connections, and ensuring the trailer is properly secured. The role also requires driving a forklift to make up cross dock loads and maintaining cleanliness in the work area. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability and willingness to work non-traditional shifts and hours.
• CDL A or CDL B Certification.
• Hazmat and Doubles endorsements.
• Minimum 1 year driving tractor/trailer combinations.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations on equipment standards and inspections.

Responsibilities

• Perform a complete safety and mechanical check of the Yard truck and trailers.
• Climb into the cab, drive to trailers, back up to the trailer, and make connections.
• Back the trailer into the designated spot, disconnect it, and install chocks.
• Drive a forklift to make up cross dock loads.
• Perform housekeeping duties to keep floors and work areas clean.
