About The Position

The Spot Welder is responsible for operating resistance spot welding equipment to join metal components according to engineering specifications, quality standards, and production schedules. This position plays a critical role in ensuring product integrity, safety, and on-time delivery in a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous manufacturing or welding experience preferred
Ability to read blueprints and follow written/verbal instructions
Basic math and measurement skills
Ability to use hand tools and measuring devices
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Repetitive hand and arm movements
Frequent bending, reaching, and handling of metal components

Responsibilities

Operate spot welding machines and related equipment safely and efficiently
Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and production schedules
Align and position parts using fixtures, clamps, and measuring tools
Inspect welds for quality, strength, and appearance
Perform basic quality checks using calipers, gauges, and visual inspection methods
Maintain required production rates while meeting quality standards
Perform routine machine maintenance and report equipment issues
Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE
Maintain a clean and organized work area (5S standards)
Assist in other production tasks as needed
