About The Position

Why We Need Your Talents: A Dual Rate Writer functions as either the writer role or the Supervisor role, based on the company's business needs. The Sportsbook Supervisor is responsible for the operations of a specific area of the Sportsbook during assigned shift including but not limited to approving or denying wagers from customers, scheduling of staff, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Sportsbook Writers processes sporting event bets for guests, as well as keep track of odds, verify tickets, and payoff winnings. Your knowledge of sports betting as it relates to probability, point spreads, and money lines will help you succeed in your daily duties.

Requirements

  • Prior sports and sports betting knowledge.

  • General understanding of financial information, data, and basic arithmetic functions.
  • Thorough knowledge of the approved Responsible Gaming Program.

Responsibilities

  • Accepts bets and writes tickets on all sporting events from customers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Receives sport or parlay tickets from customers and pays customers who present winning tickets and vouchers.
  • Maintains and balances a till for use in issuing and redeeming tickets and vouchers.
  • Maintain a neat and well-stocked window for the next shift.
  • Responsible for processing transactions accurately and maintaining accurate reconciliations.
  • Must be aware of all Title 31 procedures and logging.
  • Must know all terms and conditions pertaining to sports wagering.
  • Must be fully aware of all lines and odds in the Sports Book.
  • Remain alert to any peculiar betting patterns and report such events to the Sports Book Supervisor.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory controls of the state gaming agency.
  • Promotes superior guest service.
  • Supervises Sportsbook cashiers; ensures all transactions are performed according to Company policies as well as state and federal regulations.
  • Monitors all monies being wagered.
  • Approves or denies wagers from guests in conjunction with the Risk and Trading team.
  • Maintains Sportsbook vault.
  • Conducts sweeps/bankroll increases on cashier drawers as necessary.
  • Monitors performance, conducts basic maintenance, and customer experience on kiosks.
  • Handles escalated guest disputes in the Sportsbook.
  • Reports issues and discrepancies to management immediately.
  • Advises management of any operational concerns.
  • Assists with training, developing, measuring performance, disciplining, and/or scheduling department staff, as assigned.
  • Enforces Company's Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Maintains high visibility throughout the Sportsbook.
  • Provides outstanding customer service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
