Sports Rock Wall Attendant

About The Position

The YMCA of Southern Nevada is looking for a rock wall attendant to supervise children while rock climbing indoors. This person will instruct participants in proper rock wall climbing techniques and ensure safety protocols are followed at all times while fostering a fun and supportive environment. This is a part-time in-person position located at the Heinrich YMCA – 4141 Meadows Lane. The rock wall is open Monday - Thursday from 5pm - 7pm.

Requirements

Highschool diploma or G.E.D. (or degree in progress)
At least 16 years of age
Experience working with children
Knowledge of the relevant sport
Within 30 days of hire, completion of CPR for Professional Rescuers (with AED), First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen Certifications

Responsibilities

Instructs participants in proper rock-climbing technique.
Provides assistance to climbers, including belaying and coaching.
Serves as a positive role model for program participants.
Promotes safety as an overriding objective in all programming efforts.
Contributes to a positive work environment.
Adheres to policies related to boundaries with children.
Attends required abuse risk management training.
Reports suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements.
Adheres to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities.
