About The Position

KMVT has an opening for a multi-media journalist/sports reporter. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to get a start in TV journalism and who has a passion for local sports coverage. This person will research, shoot, write, edit, and present news stories on the air, typically three days a week. The other two days will focus on sports reporting & anchoring. They will also post news & sports content on our website and be actively involved with social media.

Requirements

• Experience in college-level broadcast journalism training.
• A college degree in broadcast journalism or equivalent experience.
• Video examples of on-air work.
• Ability to lift and carry equipment including tripod, camera, and lights.
• Ability to work independently.
• Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Willingness to work weekends, nights, or any given shift.
• Ability to find enterprise news and sports stories.
• Ability to work under deadlines.
• Exhibit a good work ethic, strong people skills, and the ability to be a team player.
• Maintain a professional attitude at all times.

Nice To Haves

• Sports experience is a plus.
