About The Position

The Sports & Recreation Director oversees all gym-related programming for the Marjorie & Lewis Katz JCC; including after school classes, early childhood classes, clinics, leagues and special events.

Requirements

  • Strong computer, administrative, accounting and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office 2000; Word, Excel, Access.
  • Interacts well with members, clients, colleagues and guests.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of our agency and be able to respond appropriately with accurate information.
  • Understanding of all facets of sports, tournaments, rules and culture.

Responsibilities

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills; must have good written and oral communication.
  • Records and accounts for all receivables in various computer programs and databases.
  • Processes all payables and receivables for department and assist with the accounting department in the settling of events.
  • Participate in a variety of agency-wide and interdepartmental activities and events which may require after-hours work.
  • Be able to work independently and have the ability to multi-task and make use of time wisely.
  • Work with community-based groups for partnerships.
  • Serve as the primary administrator on adult, teen and children's sports leagues held throughout the year.
  • Teach 3-4 early childhood classes per week, as needed.
