About The Position

KING 5 is launching a new, daily one-hour sports talk show and is seeking an experienced Sports Producer to join our team for a six-month pilot. This is a temporary full-time position for the 6-month pilot. There is a possibility, depending on the success of the pilot, that this will become a regular (non-temporary) full-time role. The job is designed for a creative, highly organized producer who thrives in a fast-paced, graphics-heavy environment and has a passion for local and national sports conversation. This role will be instrumental in shaping the show’s voice, pacing, and visual presentation from the ground up.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of sports producing experience
  • Strong editorial judgment and deep knowledge of sports
  • Experience creating and managing high-volume show graphics
  • Proven ability to book guests and develop strong industry contacts
  • Ability to work under daily deadline pressure in a collaborative newsroom environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Shooting and editing skills

Responsibilities

  • Produce daily rundowns and collaborate on editorial decision-making
  • Create and oversee graphics for a visually dynamic, high-volume graphics show
  • Book and coordinate guests, including athletes, analysts, and insiders
  • Partner with hosts to develop engaging segments and compelling sports debates
  • Ensure accuracy, strong storytelling, and adherence to journalistic standards
  • Create digital elements including producing mobile shorts daily
  • Shooting and editing as needed
