The Sports Performance Specialist will serve as an integral part of TOA’s stated strategy to increase its Sport Medicine impact in the markets it serves. Specifically, the role will: Contribute to a multi-faceted service line at TOA that is focused on using Sports Performance as a standalone offering, and as a gateway to traditional and emergent TOA lines of service. Coordinate with other community resources for additional services and referrals in such areas as nutrition, sports science, sports psychology, massage/recovery, and group fitness. With the eventual goal of evaluating the addition of these areas as TOA service lines. Help organize and be instrumental in community outreach such as, education, camps, and clinics. Establish community relationships with area sports leagues, coaches, and schools with the goal of expanding and improving current TOA relationships. Initiate community-wide presentations, electronic media on topics related to sports training, fitness, wellness, and health-related topics. Assist with social media and marketing in the area of sports performance. Coordinate programs within TOA related to return to play programs for functional rehabilitation (ACL, Throwing, etc.). Work in conjunction with group exercise and personal training. Provide individual sports performance and wellness training to individual clients, including a cohort of clients from across a wide array of constituencies, including but not limited to high-performing athletes, recreational and casual athletes, and others interested in sports performance and wellness. Provide supervision and education of clients in an individual and group format for areas in sports performance and return to play. Provide resources and subject matter expertise to internal and external clients in the area of injury prevention, nutrition, and enhanced sport specific athletic performance. Teach, demonstrate, and supervise proper techniques for strength, speed, conditioning, and flexibility exercises, all while maintaining a safe and positive training environment. Initiate internal education for providers and TOA colleagues. Perform all other duties as assigned.
