Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Sports Medicine, Physical Education, or Sports Management
  • 1 year Relevant experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, community representatives, coaches, and clients.
  • Ability to motivate others and teach clinical skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
  • CSCS - Strength and Conditioning Specialist NSCA - State of Pennsylvania within 120 Days
  • Lift and carry 40-50 lbs.
  • Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight.
  • Frequent to continuous standing/walking.
  • Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift.
  • Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers direct sports performance training services to clients at all levels of athletic ability.
  • Designs and implements sports specific training programs for individuals and teams at every level of athletic ability.
  • Develops clinical competencies and sports specific training protocols and practice guidelines.
  • Adapts program design and service delivery to reflect current evidence based practice and industry trends.
  • Serves as a mentor and clinical resource for colleagues and student development.
  • Provides routine educational updates to staff and community members relating to clinical specialty.
  • Seeks opportunities to develop relationships with core and extended team members and members of athletic associations.
  • Establishes and maintains current evidence based standards of care.
