About The Position

Responsible for developing and scheduling a turf maintenance program for the City of Greenville's 110-acre Sports Park. Includes but not limited to overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of athletic fields, medians and common areas in the Sports Park. Reports to Assistant Director.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Turfgrass Management, Horticulture, Agronomy, Plant Science or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three to Five years of experience in athletic field management.
• Texas Department of Agriculture Pesticide Applicator's License or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
• Valid Texas Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, evaluate and manage the day-to-day operations of the turf technicians for all athletic fields and surrounding areas.
• Develop, implement, and maintain field management, preventative maintenance calendars, fertilization, cultural practices, mowing, irrigation, field painting and preparation for athletic practices, contests and game day set up.
• Inventory and order all athletics department tools, field paint, fertilizer, and fields.
• Supervise and work with field management crew.
• Monitor game day preparation and management by consistent field management and manicuring.
• Perform inspections of all athletic fields.
