About The Position

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU), located in beautiful Daytona Beach, Florida, invites applications for one Sports Medicine Intern for the Spring 2026 term. This immersive opportunity is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals seeking to advance their clinical skills and gain valuable experience in a collegiate athletic setting. The selected intern will work under the supervision and mentorship of the Associate Athletic Director for Health and Sport Performance, as well as a team of seven full-time, certified athletic trainers. Fellows will provide athletic training services and sport coverage as assigned, contributing to the health and performance of student-athletes across 20 NCAA Division II sports. ERAU is a proud member of the Sunshine State Conference (SSC).

Requirements

  • Formal diploma/certificate/degree program of 6-18 months after high school in Emergency Medical Technician, Athletic Training, or related field
  • EMT
  • ATC (or BOC eligible)
  • CPR/AED for professional rescuers

Responsibilities

  • Providing athletic training coverage and care for assigned sports
  • Assisting with daily operations at two on-campus athletic health care facilities
  • Participating in clinical rounds with Team Physicians
  • Collaborating with coaches, strength and conditioning staff, and other members of ERAU’s integrated sports performance team
  • Engaging in professional development and practical learning experiences
