About The Position

Under on-site supervision of Physical Therapist and office manager assists with deparmtental operations and patient care in accordance with an established physician plan of care and in compliance with applicable licensure/certification requirements, Texas state practice acts, and Hunt Memorial Hospital District policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with ability to read, write and follow written instructions.
  • Ability to function with minimal supervision and accept responsibility for establishing and maintaining cooperative relationships with patients/family members
  • Ability to meet minimum hiring standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with patient treatment as directed by the Physical Therapist.
  • Assists patient with mobility skills, transfers, and gait as directed by PT.
  • Prepares and applies hot/cold packs, paraffin, ultrasound, and TENS as directed by the PT.
  • Prepares and positions patient for treatment as directed by the PT.
  • Maintains daily patient treatment documentation.
  • Performs clerical duties (collects and distributes mail, answers phone, complies charts, files and makes copies).
  • Cleans work areas and prepares for next use; cleans supply area.
  • Answer Telephones, assist with follow up appointments.
  • Schedule Patients.
  • Canceling and Re-Scheduling Patients in System(s)
  • Patient Check In and Out.
  • Collect Copayments and Counter Payments.
  • Assures completion of required forms.
  • Scan and Index Documents into System(s).
  • Account for Daily Encounters.
  • Balance Cash Drawer.
  • Transmission of Documents to All Extern all Entities.
  • Prepare Paperwork for Daily Clinic.
  • Enter Demographic and Insurance Information into System(s), Post Charges and Copayments as Appropriate within Billing System.
  • Manage Outstanding Patient Balances and Collect as Patients Flow Through Clinic Environment.
  • Convey Overpayments.
  • Call and Confirm Appointments.
  • Photo Documentation for Charts.
  • Manages Pharmaceutical Reps, Samples, and Meetings Throughout Office.
  • Coordinates Identification and Insurance information with On-Site Lab Draw Station.
  • Coordinate External Lab Pick Ups.
  • Support Physician and Co Workers in General Administrative Tasks.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of and adherence to the HMHD Compliance Plan.
  • Conduct reflects HMHD's values and a commitment to HMHD's Code of Conduct.
  • Attends the required corporate integrity and compliance training and education programs.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in understanding the materials presented during the corporate integrity and compliance training and education program.
  • Complies with all HIPAA standards.
  • Performs responsibilities related to departmental operations.
  • Ensures clean, safe working enviroronment.
