Position Summary The Sports Massage Therapist plays a key role in creating a restorative, wellness-focused experience for guests, members, and resort athletes. This position specializes in performance-driven bodywork—helping golfers, tennis players, runners, and active guests recover, prevent injury, and enhance their overall mobility. Working within the Sandestin Fitness Center, this therapist delivers high-quality services aligned with the resort’s standards of professionalism, care, and hospitality.
Requirements
- Current state licensure as a Massage Therapist in Florida (required).
- Specialized experience in sports massage, deep tissue, or therapeutic modalities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to understand client needs and provide clear guidance.
- Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced resort environment.
- Comfort working with a diverse clientele, including resort members, athletes, and visitors.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering an exceptional wellness experience.
- Ability to perform massages for extended periods, including deep tissue and athletic-focused modalities.
- Must be able to stand, bend, reach, and move equipment as needed.
- Ability to maintain stamina throughout multiple sessions in a shift.
Nice To Haves
- CPR/AED certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized sports massage and therapeutic bodywork tailored to active individuals, athletes, and guests engaged in resort recreation.
- Assess clients’ needs and customize treatment plans to support recovery, performance, and mobility improvement.
- Educate guests on stretching techniques, post-treatment care, and wellness routines that complement their fitness goals.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and calming treatment environment that reflects the quality of the Sandestin brand.
- Uphold all safety, sanitation, and equipment-care standards within the fitness center and treatment rooms.
- Build positive relationships with members, guests, and coworkers to foster a welcoming and supportive environment.
- Assist with scheduling, guest flow, and promoting wellness services when needed.
- Stay informed on current trends and best practices in sports therapy, deep tissue massage, and injury-prevention modalities.
- Represent the Fitness Center with professionalism, customer-focused service, and a team-oriented attitude.
