The Specialty Instructor provides innovative and exciting after school specialty clubs and sports programs for high school students to help them advance their skills, all while having fun. In this role, the Specialty Instructor will partner with the YMCA after school program to provide after school specialty enrichment to high school students. The Specialty Instructor should specialize in a variety of disciplines with a strong background and experience in their particular fields of specialty. Level I Instructor: Photography, Dance (all styles), Visual Art (must possess a AA degree or higher), Intro to Coding, General Sports and other related specialties and disciplines. Level II Instructor: Musician (instrument), Advance VR/AI/App Development/Coding, SAT/ACT Prep, College Essay Prep, Robotics, Circuitry, Graphic Design, Film Production, Theater, Specialized Sports. This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through healthy living, youth development, and social impact. The Instructor creates positive, nurturing relationships with older youth (high school students) while building cooperative relationships with parents/caregivers, staff, and partners. Promotes and supports the potential of all youth in programs/classes and facilitates peer-to-peer connections as part of the overall program experience. Provides direction to support children in the program and teaches curriculum that is focused on mastering specific skills. Provides a quality experience to children and parents that focuses on building achievement and belonging in youth and relationships among youth and within families. This is a seasonal position offered during the school year and on school days only.
