About The Position

The Blue Valley Recreation Commission is seeking applications for the position of Full Time Maintenance Worker. This position is full-time, year-round with benefits and will assist in the day to day maintenance of a 24-field sports complex. Applicant will be required to assist with snow removal during winter months. Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays. When not working nights or weekends the work hours are typically M-F 6:30-3pm. Starting wage $20/hr

Requirements

• Qualified applicants must be at least 18yrs old and possess at least a high school diploma or GED.
• General knowledge and experience with operation and maintenance of lawn care equipment, tractors, implements, and hand tools.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Regular and punctual attendance is required.
• The candidate must successfully pass a background check, drug screen, and maintain a valid driver license.

Responsibilities

• Line and chalk fields, place bases, and set up for games and events.
• Maintain restroom facilities and keep the complex clean and safe.
• Perform repairs on fences, dugouts, bleachers, and lighting.
• Operate and maintain hand and power tools, such as mowers, weed eaters, and sprayers.
• Assist with landscaping as needed, including planting and maintaining trees, shrubs, and flowers.
• Operate equipment (training provided):
• Tractors for dragging fields and setting up pitching mounds.
• Loaders for sweeping concrete and plowing snow.
• Trucks for pulling trailers and operating snow plows and salt spreaders.
