About The Position

PLEASANT VIEW SPORTS FACILITY MONITOR Under direct supervision, this position supervises participants in athletic programs and special events at City facilities. PLEASANT VIEW SPORTS FACILITY MONITOR ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Supervises participants and facility during games and tournaments. Supervises special events at city facilities. Assists the Program Supervisor in setup, tear down, and event activities at special events. Assists and supports the Program Supervisor in day-to-day operations by reporting results, disciplinary actions, etc. Maintains a safe and secure environment for all participants. Uses appropriate disciplinary techniques with participants and logs all incidents. Collects and files team rosters and other administrative forms accurately. Compiles and organizes game results. Reviews special events to ensure all permit requirements are met. Interacts and communicates effectively with officials, participants and other employees. Accounts for and maintains all supplies and equipment. Remains composed in emergency situations and makes sound judgment decisions during emergency and non-emergency situations. Serves as a resource to participants, maintains a professional manner while on duty, and mediates disputes calmly and professionally. Opens and closes facility, maintains safety conditions and enforces all city of Boulder rules, regulations and policies.

Requirements

  • Ability to provide excellent guest service to participants.
  • Ability to communicate effectively when enforcing policies, rules and regulations.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to be prompt.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to speak, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to have a clean and neat appearance.
  • Knowledge and experience working in customer service.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to maintain acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Have and maintain acceptable background information, including criminal conviction history.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • No experience is required for this role.
  • Must have sufficient strength, agility, stamina, and flexibility to lift, carry or move variety of objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have sufficient hearing to be able to hear and discriminate differing sounds in a variety of situations.
  • Sufficient vision to be able to discriminate between colors, size, and type of objects and people, both close and at a distance.
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities that permits the employee to communicate effectively on the telephone and in person.
  • Sufficient vision or other powers of observation that permits the employee to review, evaluate and prepare a variety of written documents and materials.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity permits the employee to use hand tools.
  • Ability to work under stress from public contact and changing priorities and conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of particular sports.
  • Previous playing/officiating experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • CPR/ AED, first aid certification.
