Sports Director - Kolo
About The Position
The Sports Director is responsible for the daily operations and strategic planning of the sports department at KOLO. They also serve as the anchor/reporter and producer for daily sports content in newscasts and on digital platforms. This role demands high-energy on-air talent, strong storytelling, and extensive knowledge of sports. Directing coverage strategy, shooting/editing video, posting content to digital platforms, and fostering relationships with local athletic teams. Delivering on-air sports reports, highlights, and live shots from field events, along with developing engaging feature stories. Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in the sports field
- Proficiency in non-linear editing (Edius)
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field
- Ability to work under tight, fast-paced deadlines and strong on-camera presence
