About The Position

FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content. The primary focus of the position is on supporting the Sports department, however there is potential to appear on camera or in a podcast.

Requirements

• College degree (preferably in Journalism).
• Minimum of two years producing experience working at a commercial television station.
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbally).
• Organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong web and social media experience.
• Shooting and editing experience.
• Time management skills and ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Uncover local sports stories that inspire in our Beyond the Game series.
• Create graphics, write, produce and booth each episode of a Sunday night sports roundtable show.
• Craft special programming that resonates with Wisconsin sports fans.
• Ensure top-notch coverage of all local sports teams.
• Shoot and script material for on-air and digital for the High School Blitz coverage.
• Advocate for the Sports Department, pushing for story angles that the community cares about for both sports and news.
• Create enterprise content that is unique to FOX6 and FOX Local.
