MLive is seeking a motivated sports reporter to create engaging content that informs audiences about various aspects of the sports world, including streaming, tickets, and merchandise. This role involves writing multiple articles daily, reacting to breaking news, and utilizing SEO best practices to enhance content visibility. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn, with the potential to advance to a sports beat or general assignment position.
Responsibilities
- Write several articles a day focused on sports information, deals, and events.
- Plan and strategize content based on the pro and college sports calendar.
- React quickly to breaking sports news and updates.
- Track and understand key metrics to ensure content performance.
- Work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Collaborate with team members and managers remotely.
- Work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
Requirements
- Degree in journalism, English, communications, or a related field preferred, or equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum 2 years' journalism experience with proven reporting and writing skills.
- Experience in commerce and affiliate marketing or revenue-generating initiatives.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and social media for content promotion.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks under deadline pressure.
- Proven ability to build, maintain, and engage an active audience.
