About The Position

Sport Coaches will run the facility's youth sports programs, including, but not limited to: leagues, developmental classes, after-school/home school programs, clinics, camps, private/semi-private training sessions, and birthday parties. The Sports Coach is responsible for coaching and developing athletes. This role involves designing and implementing training programs, providing instruction and feedback, and fostering a positive and competitive environment for athletes.

Requirements

Coaching licenses (or active pursuit of) preferred
At least 2 years of appropriate coaching/teaching sport in youth programs for athletes of various aptitudes
Must have excellent interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills
Must be a team player
Must have excellent leadership and motivational skills
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, predominately after-school and weekends
Must possess current CPR/FIRST AID certifications, or willingness to obtain within a specified period
Neat in appearance and professional in manner
Strong knowledge of sports coach rules, techniques, and strategies
Strong organizational and time-management abilities
Passion for sports and athlete development
Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist high
Must be able to move or lift lightweight equipment
Position requires standing and activity for extended periods of time (indoors or outdoors), squatting, stooping, jogging, or bending into awkward positions while performing job functions

Responsibilities

Teaching relevant skills, tactics, and techniques to a wide range of athletes, individuals and group
Develop and implement structured training programs to enhance athletes' skills, fitness, and strategies
Monitoring, evaluating, and enhancing athlete performance and progress
Providing suitable feedback via positivity, encouragement, example, and motivation
Demonstrating an activity clearly by breaking down the task or technique into a sequence
Promote discipline, respect, and sportsmanship in all team activities
Friendly and courteous with athletes, parents, and facility team members
Identifying athlete strengths and areas for development
Ensuring a safe environment for all athletes
Stay updated with the latest coaching techniques, sports science, and industry best practices
