About The Position

The JCC is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Sports League Staff Members. This role involves supporting the operations and management of our adult sports leagues, youth sports leagues, and JPlay classes. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sports, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

  • Passion for Sports: Strong interest in sports and familiarity with rules and regulations.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask and handle various responsibilities.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with players, referees, and staff.
  • Customer Service: Previous experience in customer service is preferred, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and committed to attending all scheduled games and events.
  • Team Player: Ability to work well in a team environment and support colleagues as needed.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move equipment, stand for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Event Coordination: Assist in the setup and breakdown of league events, including preparing fields/courts, setting up equipment, and ensuring all materials are available for games.
  • Scorekeeping: Accurately record game scores, manage game clocks, and maintain official game records.
  • Player Registration: Assist with player check-ins, verify registrations, and distribute league materials.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to players, referees, and spectators, addressing any questions or concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Rule Enforcement: Ensure games are played according to league rules and regulations, addressing any disputes or issues that arise during games.
  • Health and Safety: Monitor the playing environment to ensure the safety of all participants and respond to any injuries or emergencies.
  • Communication: Work closely with league managers, referees, and other staff to ensure smooth operations and effective communication throughout events.
  • Equipment Management: Maintain and manage league equipment, ensuring everything is in good working order and properly stored after use.
  • Promotions: Assist with marketing and promotional activities to increase league visibility and participation.
