About The Position

The Basketball Instructor is a hands-on role that will lead athletes and provides expert instruction in their designated sport. The Volunteer Coach is directly responsible for providing the i9 Sports Experience and driving a positive youth sports culture on the field.

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills
• Experience coaching, playing or officiating the sport
• Enthusiastic and positive attitude; able to work well with both the children and paren volunteers
• Highly motivated self-starter; can work independently & solve problems
• Awareness & ability to take charge of any situation to ensure the safety of players
• Some responsibility in transporting equipment from each venue
• Ability to work a varied work schedule including weekends and some evenings (for the full duration of the season, ~7 weeks)
• Must be able to pass a National Criminal Background Check

Responsibilities

• Assist in the leading of practice sessions that focus on fundamentals, skill development, and fun
• Teach & demonstrate core concepts including Sportsmanship values
• With the help of established platforms, communicate game day information to players and parents
• Consistently demonstrate a positive attitude and superior customer service skills
